The A option manually aligns the printer before printing an entire set of forms. This is particularly useful when working with a complex forms generation statement that includes one or more MultiValued attributes or a background form.
The A option causes the data on the first form to be (nondestructively) converted to Xs. The converted data is then sent to either the printer or the terminal (depending on whether the forms generation statement includes the P option). The system then displays the message:
Align? Y=cr/N> |
Inspect the converted data and see whether you need to realign the printer. If the printer requires realignment:
Manually set the printer at the top of the next form.
Press ENTER.
The converted data is reprinted for verification.
If the converted output is satisfactory, to print the set of forms,
Type N
Press ENTER.
To use the A option, the SP-ASSIGNment must include the CI option. The CI option breaks up a print job, sending it to the printer in amounts of 20 frames or less, and specifies that the job print immediately. For more information, see the SP-ASSIGN Command.
