Security-Related Command Summary

These commands either restrict an account’s or a user’s ability to access parts of the system, or modify or track an account’s activity. For additional information about these commands, see Using the SYSPROG Account and Commands in the Guide to mvBase Files and Accounts or to previous sections in this document.

Command

Description

AUTO-DISCONNECT

Allows certain mvBase clients the capability to disconnect from the mvBase Server with a custom delay, reserving the line for reconnect.

AUTO-LOGOFF

Automatically logs off specified processes after either a designated period of inactivity or the loss of an incoming DTR signal.

CREATE-ACCOUNT

When creating a new account, the CREATE-ACCOUNT command prompts you to enter a password for the account as part of the procedure. For additional information, see Line 7: Assigning, Changing and Deleting Account Passwords.

LIST-SECURITY-LOG

Lists all security violations logged in the SECURITY-LOG file.

LOCKOUT

Prevents prospective users from logging on if a specified number of invalid attempts to log on have occurred.

LOCKOUT-STATUS

Displays the parameters currently in effect for the LOCKOUT command.

PASSWORD

A program that sets a password for a new account or user-ID, or changes or deletes an existing password.

RESET-SECURITY-LOG

Clears the SECURITY-LOG file.
