Checking the Status of SP-ASSIGNments (LISTABS)

Use LISTABS when you want to know about all current Spooler SP-ASSIGNments. The report lists:

Status codes can be any of the following:

C

Chokes the output generation to the speed of the printer.

H

Creates a hold file.

I

Prints the file immediately.

M

Suppresses print job entry number.

O

Keeps the print file open.

P

Sends output to the printer.

T

Sends output to the tape device.

The LISTABS command produces a report that looks like the following:

The report shows that all printer output from processes 0 through 5 is to be sent to the printer. Output from processes 6 and 7, however, is to be held as hold files on the Spooler. Processes 1, 3, and 4 have specified immediate printing, and process 3 has additionally specified that printer output should be choked. Process 5 has specified that all printer output should be kept in an open print file on the Spooler. Process 6 specifies that printer output be written to tape when it is spooled.
