Control data flow. X-ON and X-OFF have been superseded by the PROTOCOL command. The X-ON command controls the flow of data between an external device and the mvBase system through the use of the CTRL+S and CTRL+Q key sequences. This control ensures that data is sent only as fast as it can be processed. The X-OFF command disables these CTRL key sequences.

Description
After entering the X-ON command, pressing CTRL+S stops output from scrolling up the terminal screen. Pressing CTRL+Q resumes the flow of data.
Controlling the Flow of Data
The following example enables the CTRL+S and CTRL+Q sequences that control the flow of data between the system and an external device:
