Setting Line and Process Characteristics

Communications line settings allow a user’s terminal to communicate properly with the system. In addition, each process has a number of default settings that can be modified. Normally you can expect that the line characteristics and the default process settings are correct, especially if the terminal has been connected to the system and in operation on a regular basis. If they are not, however, it is fairly easy to change these characteristics.
