RENAME may be used to rename both the dictionary and data portions of the file. It may also be used to rename only the dictionary or data portions of the file by specifying DICT or DATA in the command line.
Format
RENAME [(DICT/DATA)] old-filename TO: new-filename |
Description
RENAME may not be used to transfer files between the dictionary and data levels. This command sets all group update flags to allow INCR-SAVE to be used correctly.
If either the dictionary or data portions of the file can not be renamed, the function will not perform and one of the following messages displays:
