FlashConnect components

When both the Web server and the FlashConnect service are properly configured and started, you can start the FlashConnect servers.

The instructions in this section are for both the UNIX and Windows platforms.

  1. Creating a turnkey installation
    A turnkey installation is one in which FlashConnect becomes available when the host system starts. Complete the steps below to modify the installation to be a turnkey installation.
  2. Starting FlashConnect in the foreground
    Manually starting FlashConnect in the foreground from TCL facilitates the debugging process. Complete these instructions to start FlashConnect in the foreground.
  3. Running FlashConnect ports in the foreground (D3 only)
    FlashConnect can be started on a physical line where there is no physical device (tty). This allows FlashConnect ports to be run in the foreground by spawning the ports in the inittab.
  4. Local environment customization
    An administration utility is included with FlashConnect to customize your local environment.

    This section provides information for starting and stopping FCService, FlashConnect and w3Monitor.
