w3Monitor

The w3Monitor application provides the ability to dynamically add and drop FlashConnect connections over time based upon the site’s activity. See the Automatic Load Balancing topic in the FlashConnect Administrator’s Guide for additional information. w3Monitor also detects when a port goes into the debugger, logs the event, restarts the port, and starts the heartbeat.

There are two steps to dynamically configuring the number of connections:

  1. Configuring the w3Config file. To enter the w3Config file, use the FlashConnect Main Menu and select Configure FlashConnect Connections.

  2. Starting the w3Monitor application.

NOTE

If D3 performance slows while w3Monitor is checking server pool connections, verify that the dm,jobs file is properly sized. If it is not properly sized, correct the size or delete the completed jobs.
