.set chapter command

The .set chapter sets the options for chapter headings. This command must precede any .chapter commands.

Syntax

.set chapter {options}

Synonym(s)

.sch

Parameter(s)

options

b

Boldface.

i

Italics.

u

Underline.

s

Suppresses section numbers. The s option also suppresses the word Chapter followed by the chapter number from being output above the chapter heading. The chapters are still numbered internally, so the .prefix page command can still be used.

r

Roman numeral chapter numbers.

NOTE

Options should be entered one after the other, and not separated with commas or spaces. Any combination of options may be used. However, some printers do not accept a combination of boldface, italics, and underline.
