Proper administrative rights

Administrative rights are required for installing D3 Windows. If the user performing an install does not have admin rights, they will be prompted for a valid user name and password with administrative rights. To uninstall D3 Windows, you must be logged on as administrator.

OpenSSL libraries

The following 64–bit dll's are required if you intend to use the data encryption or SSL features:

libeay32.dll
ssleay32.dll

These dll files must be from an OpenSSL package version 0.9.8 or higher. Additionally, the two dll files must be placed in the D3Programs directory of your D3 installation and the D3 service restarted.

Note: To obtain the libeay32.dll & ssleay32.dll files, either:

install the OpenSSL package on your system and locate the dll's in the files installed with OpenSSL.
locate the dll files on the internet and download.

Note that these dll's and the optional certificate file will be deleted if D3 is uninstalled.

You must provide a certificate file if you intend to use an MVSP SSL connection or your own SSL server using the % functions from BASIC. This can be a self-generated certificate or one can be purchased from a Certificate Authority. This certificate must be converted to a .pem format (see the OpenSSL documentation for more information) and must be installed in the D3Programs directory.
