D3 MQSeries Server Interface User's Guide overview

MQSeries (IBM renamed the product to WebSphere MQ after our product was developed) is a software family developed by IBM and its components are used to enable different applications running on different operating systems to exchange data using messages and queues. MQSeries is also known as business integration software or business integration framework because of its ability to tie different types of applications together.

The MQSeries family of software also includes a standard library of functions known as the Message Queue Interface (MQI). The MQI is identical on different platforms and operating systems allowing straightforward and easy implementation. The MQI takes care of the communication layer and operating environment specifics allowing developers to concentrate on the applications business logic.

    MQSeries, by IBM, is a messaging system that allows heterogeneous computer systems and software to exchange data. The information is exchanged through messaging queues managed by the Queue Manager responsible for receiving messages and making them available on the network for other systems to use. MQSeries also comprises a library of functions for developers to use in their own applications. This library is a common programming interface known as the Message Queue Interface (MQI).

    D3 MQSeries Server Interface is the implementation of the MQI library (Message Queue Interface) in FlashBASIC and C. The D3 MQSeries Server Interface library allows D3 developers to send and receive MQSeries messages directly from BASIC programs. The D3 MQSeries Server Interface library also includes subroutines to manage the MQSeries Queue Manager.

This makes it totally transparent to the BASIC developer.
