Activating D3 is the last step of the installation process.
The product activation procedure is used to activate your system,
to increase the number of licensed users on the system, and to use
additional D3 features.
About this task
- The colon (:) is a D3 prompt that indicates the user is at the Terminal
Control Language (TCL) prompt.
- You can enter <CTRL>x at any time to quit the activation
screen.
Procedure

Log on with user-ID dm and master dictionary entry
dm.
Enter your user id: dm
master dictionary: dm

At the D3 TCL prompt, enter:
activate
You will see the copyright information, followed by a copyright infringement warning
and an agreement clause:

Do you agree with the above and accept the terms and conditions of the Rocket
Software License Agreement enclosed with your D3 distribution media.
[Yes/No/View/Print/Quit] ?

Carefully read the copyright information.
- To view the entire end-user license agreement, enter
view.
- To print the entire end-user license agreement to the currently assigned system
printer, enter print.

When you are satisfied with the agreement, enter yes to
continue.
If this is a new installation, you will see the

You do not currently have a System Identification # registered on this system.
One is provided to you when you purchase the D3 DBMS. If you have it you may
enter it now. If you do not have one or do not enter it now you will only be
activated for a TWO week period.
