Activating D3 is the last step of the installation process. The product activation procedure is used to activate your system, to increase the number of licensed users on the system, and to use additional D3 features.

As shown above, the colon (:) is a D3 prompt that indicates the user is at the Terminal Control Language (TCL) prompt.

Enter <CTRL>x at any time to quit the activation screen.
The copyright information displays, followed by a copyright infringement warning and an agreement clause:

To view the entire end-user license agreement, enter view.
To print the entire end-user license agreement to the currently assigned system printer, enter print.
When satisfied with the agreement, enter yes to continue.
If this is a new installation, the system displays:
You do not currently have a System Identification # registered on this system. One is provided to you when you purchase the D3 DBMS. If you have it you may enter it now. If you do not have one or do not enter it now you will only be activated for a TWO week period. Enter System ID or press Q to quit System ID #_
The following message displays:

If the activation number is not accepted, this message displays:

When the activation code is accepted, a similar screen displays:

If not, call Rocket Customer Service to verify the activation.
If there are more server pools to be activated, press any key to continue the activation and enter the next set of numbers to activate another server pool.
If all server pools have been activated, press <CTRL>x to quit.
To verify the system's activations and its set of licensed pools, enter the maxusers and sysid commands.
The activation process is complete.
