This appendix contains information on Host Authentication,
running D3 as a service, SSL encryption, administering UNIX ODBC servers
and D3 configuration file tape statements.
Host Authentication is a D3 feature that allows use of the operating system to provide authentication of logon credentials when logging into D3. By default, the client is automatically logged into D3 using their operating system logon credentials rather than being prompted for their traditional D3 user and password.
In order for D3 to be able to support SSL communications and data encryption, the SSL libraries and certificate (for SSL) must be installed. Rocket does not provide the required libraries or certificate files.
The D3 ODBC account Main Menu is available for administering a UNIX ODBC server from the TCL prompt. This menu provides options for configuring, starting, stopping, and monitoring the ODBC server.
