Authorizing Users on Microsoft Windows Platforms

To authorize users to access the Uniface Server, you need to create a local user group on the Microsoft Windows system on which the Uniface Server will run. You can then add to the group the user accounts that are allowed to access the Server.

If only specific users are allowed to access the Uniface Server, you can add them individually. Often, however, users already belong to a group that you can then add to the local group. This can be a global group from a completely different domain.

The installation program automatically provides a default authorization that automates some of the tasks of a basic configuration. It creates the user group Uniface Server Users, which has the necessary permissions for you to run the Uniface Server, Uniface Router, and Web Request Dispatcher.

You can use this group as a model for adding others yourself. However, for more customized development and deployment purposes, you need to create and authorize user groups and user accounts for your own environment.
