Uninstalling Sentinel RMS License Manager on Windows

When installing the RMS License Manager, an uninstall script is created. If you used the default location, this can be found in: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\SafeNetSentinel\Uninstall

When uninstalling, you will be asked to return your license so that you can use it on a different machine. This allows you to move your RMS License Manager to a different machine and reuse the license. This feature is also useful if you wish to change from a cloud-served license to a license file.

To uninstall:

  1. Run the uninstallrms.bat script and click OK in the subsequent dialog box.
  2. At the first prompt, press Enter to continue with the uninstall.
  3. If a cloud-served license is detected, you are asked if you want to reconfigure your proxy settings and to enter the Entitlement ID of the license you are returning.
    1.  Select yes (Y) to re-enter the proxy details, or no (N) to continue with your existing proxy settings.

You will need an internet connection for this process.

    2. Enter the Entitlement ID for the cloud-served license you are returning. Press Enter to continue.
    3. Optionally enter an additional Entitlement ID to return another license, or press Enter to continue. You can return multiple Entitlement IDs.
  4. If a license file is detected, you are warned that the license file will be deleted. You can quit the process to make a copy of the file before continuing. Alternatively, you can download a new license file from the Sentinel EMS Customer Portal.
  5. The uninstall script will now proceed to clean up the RMS License Manager and Cloud Plug-in (if applicable), and return the license.
