$NLS_FORMAT

Set the default behavior for displaying data of type Number, Float, Date, Time, and Datetime.

$NLS_FORMAT { = } nlslocale | classic

Arguments

  • nlslocale—use the value specified by $NLS_LOCALE. If $NLS_LOCALE is set to system or a locale, data of type Number, Float, Date, Time, and Datetime is displayed according to the current locale.
  • classic—ignore the locale when displaying locale-sensitive data

Description

Use $NLS_FORMAT if you want the default behavior for data formatting to be different than $NLS_LOCALE.

If $NLS_LOCALE is set to system or a locale, locale-based formatting is applied.

Setting the value of $nlsformat in ProcScript overrides the value of $NLS_FORMAT, if defined, in the assignment file.
