This section describes the new and enhanced features in D3 AIX 9.1.
MVSP .NET API
Added support in the MVSP .NET API for connecting to D3 using a secure socket layer (SSL) connection.
Added support in the MVSP .NET API to connect to D3 using the new Enterprise License scheme.
MVSP Java API
Added support in the MVSP Java API for connecting to D3 using a secure socket layer (SSL) connection.
Added support in the MVSP Java API to connect to D3 using the new Enterprise License scheme when the Java application is on the Windows platform.
The core memory setting in the pick0 file can now be set to a value as high as you like as long as you have enough physical RAM on your system to accommodate the setting. The default value for core during installation will be 90% of the available RAM at the time of running the D3_Setup utility. To increase the core memory setting, edit the core memory tag from the /usr/lib/pick/pick0 file.
Added support for SSL connections using the %accept_ssl, %connect_ssl, %read_ssl, %write_ssl and %close_ssl functions in FlashBASIC.
Provided the ability to encrypt and decrypt data via the new encrypt-file and decrypt-file commands.
Enhanced the MVSP server to support SSL connections.
The SSL libraries must be installed on your system if you wish to use file encryption.
Enhanced the file resizing routines to also validate the state of the file.
Added the ability to create an encrypted file using the new e option on the create-file command. The SSL libraries are required to be present on the system if you wish to use file encryption.
Added the ability to run multiple flushers by adding a new flushers tag to the pick0 file for specifying the number of flusher processes to use for writing memory to disk. The maximum number of flushers supported is 63.
Added the ability to control whether D3 prompts for logon credentials or whether D3 uses the client's Operating System credentials for logging on. This policy is implemented using the haforcecheck option of the d3 command. The SSL libraries must be installed on your system if you want to use Host Authentication.
Added a new license type (Enterprise Licensing) to allow multiple connections from a client to share a single user license. The supported clients are telnet and SSH connections from Accuterm, the MVSP .NET client and the MVSP Java client on Windows.
Enterprise licensing is available in 5 or 10 connections per client. It is an additional feature to the standard licensing scheme and can be obtained for any number of user licenses.
Improved the procedure of moving D3 to another machine by adding a deactivation feature to deactivate the license of the old machine and allowing it to be activated on a new machine without contacting Rocket Customer Service.
Added the License Manager service to manage the licensing of D3.
Added an expiration date to maxusers and the activation applet for temporary activations.
D3 9.1 64bit is supported on AIX 6.1 and 7.1.
