D3 must be restarted to put UNIX in multiuser mode.
If AIX was upgraded as part of this installation, and this is a turnkey system, remember to restore the /etc/inittab file.

If the upgrade was from a previous D3 or Advanced Pick release, all FlashBASIC programs should be recompiled to ensure system integrity and performance. |
To restart the virtual machine:
Shut down the D3 system. Enter:
shutdown |
The following prompt displays:

Enter y.
Wait for the Flush complete message to display. It may display before or after the virtual machine halted message.

The D3 virtual machine has been halted.
Put UNIX into multiuser mode.
Depending on specific site requirements, this may be run-level 2, 3, 4 or 5. Enter:
init # |
where # is the proper run-level to reboot UNIX in multiuser mode.
Log in to UNIX.
If a non-root user was specified in the pick0 configuration file during the installation, log in to this user, Creating a UNIX User Account for D3.
If the user root was specified in the pick0 configuration file during the installation, log in as root.
Restart the D3 virtual machine. Enter:
d3 -0 |
The following prompt displays:
Options: F)ile only, A)BS only, X) eXecute. Q)uit = _ |
Type X.
