Activating D3 manually

Use this section to manually complete the D3 activation process.

Prerequisites

  • Ensure that you have completed all steps in the Starting D3 activation section.
  • Ensure that you have obtained the System ID number.

Procedure

  1. Enter the System ID number provided by Rocket.

    You will see the following message:

     Do one of the following:
    - To perform a manual activation, press Enter.
    - To perform an automatic activation, enter the email address registered for the
      specified system id:xxxxxxxx. Your computer must be connected to the internet
      to use this option.

  2. Press Enter to perform a manual activation.

    You will see information similar to:

    System Identification  12345678
    Hardware ID            1234-abcd-5678-efgh-9012-ijkl-3456-mnop-01
    Input activation code, or <CTRL>x to exit
    Field Description
    System Identification An 8-digit number, obtained from Rocket as part of purchasing our software.
    Hardware ID A 34-character alphanumeric string. It displays on the terminal when the activation program executes.
  3. Make note of the System Identification and Hardware ID numbers.
    Customer Service will ask for these numbers when you call for the activation number.

  4. Call Rocket Customer Service to obtain the activation codes.
  5. At the Input activation code prompt, enter the activation codes provided by Rocket.

    If the activation number is not accepted, you will see this message:

    Error: invalid set of numbers, please try again!

    When the activation code is accepted, you will see a screen similar to:

  6. Verify that all appropriate features are available and that the number of licensed users agrees with the license that was purchased as follows:
    1. Enter the maxusers command.
    2. Enter the sysid command.
  7. Complete one of the following steps:
    • If the information is incorrect, call Rocket Customer Service to verify the activation.
    • If the information is correct, go to Step 8.
    Note: The activation process must be completed once for each separate licensing pool you are activating. You are prompted to enter the next activation or to exit the process.
  8. Complete one of the following steps:
    • If there are more server pools to be activated, press any key to continue the activation and enter the next set of numbers to activate another server pool.
    • If all server pools have been activated, press <CTRL>x to quit.
