Installing D3 with the chosen settings

Complete these instructions to install D3 with the chosen settings.

1. Select the Install D3 with current settings option from the D3 Installation menu.

   The system displays the tape devices currently installed and the modified kernel parameters, as shown in this example.

   SCT Tape added. (/dev/rmt0.1)
   9-track overland tape added (/dev/rmt1.1)

   • If the kernel does not need to be rebuilt, this message displays:

     Linking Monitor ... Completed

   • If a previous D3 system was loaded, this prompt may display:

     mv: Existing /usr/bin/odbcsrv: 6755 mode. Remove?

2. Enter y.

   When the installation completes, the following message displays.

   D3 Database Management System is installed

   Note: In the case of an installation error, an error message should display. See Installation troubleshooting for more information.
3. Proceed to the next section, Starting the D3 virtual machine .
