You can use the shortcuts feature in several ways. The
purpose of this procedure is to explain how to deliver desktop shortcuts
that start specific BlueZone configurations when used in conjunction
with the served desktop deployment mode.
About this task
This feature is often used when you are replacing a competitor's desktop emulation program with BlueZone served desktop and you want to replicate the competitor's desktop environment as closely as possible. For example, use this feature if your users are accustomed to having two or more desktop shortcuts that start specific Mainframe sessions.
Procedure
- Open the Web-to-Host Wizard.
- Select a site and click Next.
- Select a launch folder and click Next.
- Create or start a BlueZone emulation client session and create the required number of BlueZone configuration files by using the Save As option.
- Click Next.
- In the Advanced Settings window, click Add Files.
- Add the file you created in step 4 and select them
- In the Advanced Settings window, click Shortcuts.
- In the Shortcut # Label field, type a title for the shortcut.
- In the corresponding Shortcut # field, type the path to the application executable file and the /F command line switch with the configuration file name.
For example, if you are creating a shortcut to the Rocket01.zmd Mainframe session, type:
C:\Program Files\BlueZone\7.1\bzmd.exe /f"Rocket01.zmd"
Note: Normally quotation marks are not required when entering the shortcut in the Wizard. However, if your configuration file name contains spaces, you must surround the configuration file name with double quotation makes as shown here:
C:\Program Files\BlueZone\bzmd.exe /F"mainframe sys1.zmd"
- Click OK.
- Click Next.
- In the Test Launch Folders window, test your changes.
- When finished, click Home to return to the Sites window or Quit to exit the Wizard.
