Basic configuration

This chapter details how to get started with BlueZone Web-to-Host.

  • Creating sites, launch folders, and sessions
    These steps describe the process of creating a site, launch folder, and session that automatically connects to your host when started.
  • Testing the launch folders and sessions
    The Test Launch Folders window is provided for testing purposes. On this window, you can use the built-in Wizard web server, or if the Wizard is installed on a Windows server platform, you can use the Windows IIS web server or any other web server running on the machine.
  • Changing the session order
  • Updating the BlueZone License File
    If your BlueZone Web-to-Host evaluation has expired or if you are converting your BlueZone Web-to-Host installation to a licensed version, you must update your BlueZone License file (BlueZone.lic).
  • Launch folder deployment modes
    There are three deployment modes: standard Web-to-Host, served desktop, and embedded client.
  • Setting the local save feature
  • Prompting for an LU name, device name, or answerback
    Users can manually change their BlueZone Display and Printer configurations to use a specific LU name, device name, or answerback. However, you can configure a BlueZone Mainframe, iSeries, or VT Display to prompt your users to enter a specific LU name, device name, or answerback.
  • Automatically generating LU and device names
    BlueZone supports several options for automatically generating LU and device names. The main advantage of automatic LU and device naming is that you can support a large number of users with one common BlueZone configuration, yet each user has their own unique LU or device name.
  • Running the ezClear Utility
    The ezClear Utility is a small Windows executable program that does not require installation. It is opened through any launch page or by double-clicking the ezclear.exe file.
