Configuring Thai language support

You can configure your Mainframe and iSeries display and printer sessions to support Thai language characters.

Prerequisites

Before configuring Thai language support in BlueZone, you must first enable a Thai keyboard input language in Microsoft Windows. For more information on changing the Windows language and keyboard layout, consult Microsoft Support.

About this task

Thai characters
Thai characters can be typed and displayed in composite form or composed form. Composite form displays each base and diacritic character as a separate character. Composed form combines base and diacritic characters to Unicode to display as a single Thai character. You configure the way BlueZone displays and types Thai characters in the Thai Options window, by selecting or clearing the following check boxes:
Display in Unicode
Select to display Thai characters as composed Unicode characters (default), or disable to display Thai characters in composite form. In composite form, all base and diacritic characters are displayed as separate characters.
Compose Characters while Typing
Select to display and type Thai characters in the active field as composed Unicode characters, or disable to display and type Thai characters in composite form. In composed form, base and diacritic characters are combined and displayed as single Thai characters.
Thai key mappings
Compose toggle (Ctrl+M) – Toggles characters in the active field to and from composed and composite forms.
Input language Thai (Ctrl+.) – Changes the keyboard input language to Thai for the active session.
Input language Latin (Ctrl+,) – Changes the keyboard input language to English for the active session.
