Scratch pad

The scratch pad is a text window that you can type, paste, and copy text in a BlueZone session. The text can be formatted, cleared, saved as a text file, or printed. If the scratch pad is closed with text still in the window, the text remains in the window when you reopen the scratch pad.

Opening the scratch pad

To open the scratch pad, click View Scratch Pad.

Docking the scratch pad

The scratch pad can be docked to the top, bottom, left or right of the display window. To dock the scratch pad, you must enable the docking property. Click View Properties. On the Power Pads tab, select the Enable Docking check box.

One power pad or scratch pad can be docked per edge of the display window. If you dock two or more pads on one edge, only one pad is displayed while the others remain hidden.

Resizing the scratch pad

You can resize the scratch pad after it is docked to the edge of the display window. Resizing is only supported on the mainframe and iSeries displays. A scratch pad in VT cannot be resized.

Additionally, any resizing changes made to a scratch pad persist if you close and then reopen the program.
