BlueZone Web-to-Host versions prior to 6.1 required users to have administrative privileges in order to install the BlueZone Web-to-Host Control Module, which is an ActiveX Control.
Microsoft Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8 users who log on with standard user privileges can install the BlueZone Web-to-Host Control Module to their own user profiles without administrative involvement.
To use download and install the BlueZone Web-to-Host Control Module, your system must meet the following requirements:
BlueZone Web-to-Host Version 6.1, or later
Microsoft Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
Internet Explorer Version 8, or later
The new ActiveX Control provides increased security. Starting with Windows Visa, many new security features like User Account Control (UAC) and Protected Mode have been introduced to the Windows desktop. In addition to these features, Microsoft, as well as many security experts, recommends that Windows users should no longer run as Administrators but as Standard users.
In order to accommodate this change, Rocket Software has redesigned the BlueZone Web-to-Host Control Module so that it can now be installed as a Non-Admin (or per-user) ActiveX control. Also, users with Administrative Privileges can now choose between per-user and machine-wide ActiveX installation.
New customers are not affected by this change. However, if you are upgrading from a previous version of BlueZone Web-to-Host, refer to Upgrading to BlueZone Web-to-Host Version 6.2 for more information.
