Configuring Windows Vista to work with BlueZone Web-to-Host
The BlueZone license provides for the deployment of the BlueZone terminal emulation and file transfer suite as a desktop or web-based application. Deployment of either or both types simultaneously is permitted and done at the discretion of the licensee.
Allow BlueZone Web-To-Host to run on Windows Vista, with User Account Control (UAC) and Protected Mode enabled for the internet and intranet zones, and still have access to all of the features and functionality needed to replace a fat client emulator.
1. Add your BlueZone Web-to-Host server or servers to the Trusted Site list in Internet Explorer (version 6 or higher):
a. Click Tools Internet Options.
b. Click the Security tab.
c. Click Trusted Sites.
d. Click Sites to add the DNS name of your BlueZone Web-to-Host server. IP addresses are not valid (according to our testing) for trusting a site.
e. Ensure Protected Mode is disabled for Trusted Sites.
f. If your BlueZone Web-to-Host site is accessed using HTTPS, then select the Server Verification check box.
g. IE Administrative templates and Group Policy can be used to add sites to the Trusted Sites list automatically.
2. Allow the BlueZone Web-to-Host control module to download and run on your users' systems:
a. Trust Rocket Software, Inc. as Publisher, or as an option, you can sign the Web-to-Host control and then only trust a signing certificate from your company.
b. Deploy the BlueZone Web-to-Host control module via the provided Web-to-Host MSI, or allow users to download signed ActiveX controls, or use the new Windows Vista ActiveX Installer service to control the deployment of ActiveX controls.
If you want to deploy the BlueZone Web-to-Host control module through a push technology installer, like Microsoft's SMS, there are two additional versions of our ActiveX control module:
•  A CAB version called web2host.cab
•  An MSI version called Web2Host.msi
They are both located on the BlueZone CD image that you downloaded, or on the BlueZone CD-ROM, in the following locations:
•  \BlueZone Desktop\Web2Host\web2host.cab
•  \BlueZone Desktop\Web2Host\msi\Web2Host.msi
c. Trusted Publishers and ActiveX permissions can be configured using IE Administrative templates and Group Policy.
