The section below takes you step-by-step through the installation process with an explanation of every step.
The following is a flow chart of the installation steps and it is followed by a step-by-step explanation of the installation
procedure.
Note that the step are identical for both BlueZone Access Server and HostFront Server.
The installation begins when you place the CD in the CD reader and executes the installation procedure. The first formality
that you need to complete is with respect to the HostFront License Agreement.
|
1. |
The License Agreement: Please read the License Agreement displayed in the dialog box. If you agree with the terms and conditions, select I accept… and click Next to continue with the installation. If you do not agree with the license agreement, click Exit Setup to stop the installation. |
|
2. |
Installation of Microsoft SQL server 2005 Express: The SQL server is required for the operation of the solution. It holds the configuration information as well as run-time data.
You can install the SQL server on any machine that can be accessed by the server(s) and the Host Access Manager (HAM). If
you want to install it on the same machine on which you are installing the server, select Yes. You will be prompted to provide a password for the default administrator account of the SQL sever. Please take note of
this password, given the you will need it later when you configure the HostFront cluster. Also note that the default user
name of the administrator is "sa". Note that the MS SQL server 2005 required a minimum length for the password of 6 characters. |
|
3. |
Installation Folder for Host Access Manager: In this step, you can specify the folder in which you want to install the solution. You can accept the default folder by clicking
on Next. |
|
4. |
Installation Folder for the BlueZone Access Server of HostFront Server: In this step, you can specify the folder in which you want to install the solution. You can accept the default folder by clicking
on Next. |
|
5. |
Standalone server/ first server in cluster or joining a cluster: This step verifies if you wish to proceed with the installation: |
|
6. |
A standalone Server or the first server in a cluster, or |
|
7. |
An additional Server to an existing cluster of servers.
|
a. |
If you select the Standalone or first server option, the installation will continue to step 4. |
|
b. |
If you select the Joining a cluster option, you will be prompted to load the installation log file that you created during
the installation of your first server. The setup from here on will continue without any further prompts. All the information
for steps that follow will be taken from the installation script file. |
|
|
8. |
Which Emulation Services to Install: Each CD has the three emulation services on it; 3720, 5250 and VT. Depending on your requirements, you can install any or
all of them. Note that each one of these services requires it’s own unique license key. If you have purchased HostFront Server,
you have the option of selecting the integration components that you want to install on the machine. Note that the installation
will only copy the installation file of the integration components. You can install each component as needed on individual
developer or production machines. HostFront provides a special download page for this purpose that can be accessed using the
following URL: HTTP://clusterserviceIP/HFCS/HFDOWNLOAD.HTM |
|
9. |
Web Site: In this step, select the web site under which the solution virtual folders will be created. If you are using Microsoft Internet
Information Server (IIS), the installation program will create the virtual folder automatically. If you are using another
web server (such as Apache or iPlanet), you must configure the virtual folders manually. For more information, see Using a
Web Server other than IIS in HAM Help file. The following step will be repeated for every emulation service selected in the
previous step (as applicable). This step includes all the options that are required for every service selected. |
|
10. |
Product Installation Options:
|
a. |
Cluster Server IP address: If you are installing a single server, this is the IP address (or DNS name) of the server that you want the end users to
access (e.g.: www.seagullsoftwarecluster.com). If you are installing a cluster with one Cluster Service as the entry point,
this is the IP address (or DNS name) of the server that you will designate as the Cluster Service. If you are installing
a cluster with multiple Cluster Services and a DNS server as an entry point, this is the IP address (or DNS name) of the DNS
server that will be available to the end users. For more information on the different possible configurations of the cluster,
please refer to the Cluster Configuration Options in HAM Help file. |
|
b. |
Connection type: This option defines the connection type between the BlueZone Access Clients and the BlueZone Access Server.
The Persistent option means that client/host sessions will use a persistent TCP/IP connection. The Non-persistent options
mean that sessions will use an HTTP or HTTPS connection depending on the option you select. |
|
c. |
RSA SecurID or RSA ClearTrust: If you wish to use HostFront with an RSA SecurID Network, select the Use RSA SecurID checkbox and make sure that you enter the IP Address of the RSA enabled Web server. Enabling the Use RSA SecurID checkbox modifies the client HTML pages automatically to enable RSA authentication. For more information about RSA, see Using
an RSA SecurID Environment in HAM Help file. If you wish to use HostFront with an RSA ClearTrust Network, select the Use RSA ClearTrust checkbox and make sure that you enter the IP Address of the RSA enabled web server. Checking the Use RSA ClearTrust checkbox modifies the client HTML pages automatically to enable RSA authentication. For more information about RSA, see Using
an RSA ClearTrust Environment in HAM Help file. If you are not using either RSA SecurID or RSA ClearTrust, select None. |
|
d. |
Light Pen (only for 3270 service): Select this option if you are using a light pen with your mainframe application. This option applies only to 3270 service. |
|
e. |
Service Log in Account: This option defines the account under which the service will be running. By default, the Local system account will be selected.
However, you can select to have the service running under another specific account (this would be the case, for example, if
your setup uses an HIS domain and you need to run the 5250 and 3270 services under a specific account that can access all
HIS servers in the HIS domain). |
|
|
11. |
Sentinel Service Account: This step allows you to define the account under which the Sentinel Service will run. Keep the settings of the System Account
as is, unless you are using the Microsoft HIS client on the same machine as the Host Access Manager (HAM). The Sentinel Service
Account option should be used if you are upgrading from a previous version where you were using HIS client and not the HIS
server.
Important The selected account must have the permission to log in as a service. If it does not have that permission, the setup program
will add it. For this change to take effect, you will need to restart the computer at the end of the installation. When needed,
the setup program will prompt you for a restart.
|
|
12. |
Automatic Starting: This last step allows you to install the services with automatic start up option so that they start automatically when the
server is rebooted. Note that this option applies to all installed services (the communication services and the cluster service
as well). If, on a particular server you are not using the cluster service, you might want to change the start up option for
it manually from the Windows Services panel. |
