Configuring the group feature
The group feature can be used if you have the need to divide up your pool of concurrent user licenses into a logical grouping.
This can be useful if you have a particular group of users that always need to have licenses available and other users that are considered casual users.
Example: Within your user community, you have a group of Customer Service Representatives that must always have licenses available. You can create a group called Customer Service and assign an equal number of licenses as you have Customer Service Representatives. Then create a group called Casual and assign to this group the balance of your licenses.
Result: This guarantees that all Customer Service Representatives are always able to obtain a license.
To configure groups:
1. Click Options Groups on the License Manager menu bar.
The Group Name dialog opens.
2. Click Add.
The New Group dialog opens.
3. Type a Group Name.
4. In the Any field, type the number of Licenses you want associated with this group.
5. Click OK.
6. Create additional groups as needed until all your licenses are assigned to at least two groups.
If you want to allow users who have group names that are not configured stored in their BlueZone configuration to get a license from the general pool, select the Assign licenses for unconfigured group names from general pool check box.
Note
If you do not select this check box, users that have group names that are not configured stored in their BlueZone configuration are not able to get a license.
