The AciveX File Transfer Client uses an interface similar to that of Windows Explorer for transferring files between a host
and the PC. You can select one or many host files and/or members to download to your PC. When you download a host file and/or
member to your PC, you must:
• |
Select the host file(s) and/or member(s) If you only select a file, the AS/400 uses the first member in that file as the source member
• |
Click the Download button or drag the PC file to the host |
To download a file from the AS/400 to your PC, follow these steps:
1. |
Expand the directory tree on the Host files panel on the ActiveX File Transfer control and select the member you wish to transfer. |
2. |
Expand the directory tree in the PC Files panel and select the file you wish to overwrite with the contents of the Host member.
3. |
Click the Download Options button to define any conversion or formatting options. |
4. |
Start transferring the file using one of the following two options:
a. |
Drag the host file from the Host panel to the target PC file in the PC Files panel. |
b. |
With both PC and Host files selected (see Step 1 and Step 2), click the Download button on the toolbar.
• |
If the target PC file or FDF file exists, a dialog box prompts you to confirm the action. |
• |
Click Yes to overwrite the PC file/FDF file |
• |
Click No to cancel the transfer |
The Downloading file dialog box opens to display the progress of the transfer. If you are transferring more than one member,
the dialog box will indicate which member is being transferred.
5. |
You can click Cancel at any time to terminate the file transfer. Once the transfer is complete, the contents of your transferred file should appear on the PC in the file you specified. If
the contents of the downloaded file are not as expected, then you should check the upload settings using the Download Options button.
