Creating a new file and member
When you are transferring a PC file to the host and there is no member and/or file on the host side, you need to specify how the host should receive the transferred PC file.
If you select the New member or the New file and member radio button:
1. Select the type of file it is from the Type panel. You have two choices:
•  Source — this file is the original file and is not based on another file's structure.
If the file type is Source, you must define the length of the record using the Record length field. This value specifies the number of bytes in each record. If you are sending variable records, the Record Length is the length of the longest record sent or the largest record that the host can accept.
•  Data — the structure of this file is based on another file's structure.
If the file type is Data, you must type the name of the field reference file in the Field reference file field.
2. Type the file description in the File field in the New objects description panel.
3. Type the member description in the Member field in the New objects description panel.
4. If you selected New file and member radio button, you must select the type of authority to assign to the host file. You have the following choices:
•  Read/write — you can read and write to the host file
•  All — you have complete access to the host file; you can read, modify, and delete it
•  None — you can neither read nor modify the host file in any way
•  Read only — you can only read the host file
5. Click OK or click the Date/Time options tab.
