Configuring printer passthrough properties
Follow the steps below to configure your printer passthrough properties.
1. Click the Passthrough Setup tab to define the type of characters to signal a passthrough command to the host.
2. Select the Enable Passthrough Printing checkbox to allow you to define how the host will recognize a passthrough command.
Before enabling passthrough printing, make sure you define the default printer font in the Compatible fonts drop-down list box in the Page Setup tab. If you do not define this default font, the printer uses it's own default font.
3. Select the character that signals a passthrough command from the Passthrough character drop-down list. The printer requires this character to appear at the beginning and the end of the print job.
4. Select the type of character to signal the Printer Escape Character.
•  Decimal — encodes the decimal value of the Escape character as 27 in the host document.
•  Hex — encodes the hexadecimal value of the Escape character as 1B in the host document.
5. Select the Translate host printable data to ASCII checkbox to convert the host data into ASCII format.
