The ActiveX File Transfer client uses an interface similar to that of Windows Explorer to transfer files between a PC and
the host. You can only upload one PC file at a time to the host as opposed to the download function which allows you to download
more than one member at a time.
When you upload a PC file to the host, you must:
• |
Choose the file format you want by selecting between ASCII or Binary
• |
Choose the Append option if you want to append the PC file to an existing host file
• |
Select the host file and/or member If you select a host file, the host uses the first member in that file as the target member
• |
Click the Upload button or drag the PC file to the host
To upload a file from your PC to the Host, follow these steps:
1. |
Expand the directory tree in the PC Files panel on the ActiveX File Transfer control and select the file you wish to transfer.
2. |
Expand the directory tree on the Host files panel and select one of the following:
• |
Select the file in which you wish to place the PC file |
• |
If you only select a file, the host uses the first member in that file as the target. You can create either a new member or
a new file and member or use the existing member.
• |
Select the member you wish to overwrite with the contents of the PC file. |
3. |
Start transferring the file. You have two choices:
• |
Click the PC file in the PC Files panel and drag it on top of the target host file in the Host Files panel.
Note You cannot use the drag-and-drop function when a new member or a new file and member have been created because they don't
exist on the host yet. You must use the Upload button on the toolbar to complete the file transfer.
• |
With both PC and Host files selected (see Step 1 and Step 2), click the Upload button on the toolbar.
The Uploading file dialog box opens to display the progress of the transfer. If you are about to overwrite an existing member,
a dialog box opens to confirm the operation.
• |
Click Yes to overwrite the member.
• |
Click No to cancel the transfer.
4. |
You can click Cancel at any time to terminate the file transfer. |
5. |
Once the transfer is complete, the contents of your transferred file should appear on the host in the member you specified. |
