Once you start the ActiveX File Transfer control, you need to log on twice: once to BlueZone Access Server Cluster and once
to the host. In order to transfer files between the PC and the host, you must log on to both servers.
To log on to BlueZone Access Server Cluster and the host, follow these steps. This procedure assumes that you have launched
the ActiveX File Transfer control.
|
1. |
Click the Signon button. The Signon dialog box opens only when you aren't logged on to the NT domain as a trusted NT domain user. |
|
2. |
Type your user ID and password in the User Name and Password fields and press Enter. Once you have signed on, the Server Message Log on the Server Console records your sign-on. |
|
3. |
The Host Signon dialog box opens. |
|
4. |
Type your Host user name and password in the Host user name and Host password fields and press Enter. Once you sign in, the Server Message Log on the Server Console records that your File Transfer session has connected.
|
|
5. |
Click on the Connect button to start your ActiveX File Transfer session. When you are ready to disconnect the ActiveX File Transfer control from the host, click the Disconnect button. You do not need to log off from the BlueZone Access Server from the ActiveX File Transfer control.
|
|
6. |
If you have been assigned a File Transfer profile by your administrator (through the secure File Transfer automation feature),
you are presented with the Profile Selection dialog box. For more information, see Secure File Transfer Automation in the
Administrator's Guide. If you have not been assigned a File Transfer profile, then you will have full access to the host members
and PC-based files and, therefore, you can skip the next three steps. The presence of the Profile Selection dialog box will disable the main ActiveX FTP control window, preventing you from accessing
it.
|
|
7. |
Depending on the type of file transfer privileges that you have been assigned, you may be able to Upload or Download files,
or both. Click on either radio button in the Profile Type panel. Selecting a Profile Type will present you with a corresponding
list (assuming you have been assigned the requisite file transfer privilege) of File Transfer profiles. For example, if you
select the Automatic Upload radio button, a list of corresponding upload-only profiles will appear in the Available Profiles
box. |
|
8. |
Double-click on a profile description or select a profile and click Run to execute the profile. The file(s) will be automatically uploaded to or downloaded from the host. The Select the PC file to upload dialog box will appear if your system administrator has given you the option to choose a
PC file to upload or the Select the Host member to download dialog box will open if your system administrator has given you
the option to choose an Host member to download.
|
a. |
Choose a PC file name or type in a new host member (be sure to maintain the proper naming convention), whatever the case may
be. |
|
b. |
Click OK to complete the file transfer. |
|
|
9. |
Upon completion of the file transfer, the Profile Selection dialog box will be presented anew. Another profile may be selected
or the user can terminate the File Transfer session by clicking on the Exit button. |
Note
Depending on whether or not your system administrator has set a particular upload option, if you attempt to upload the same
file more than once, a $ sign will be added to the filename on your PC hard drive each time. For example, test.txt would become
test$.txt. This prevents you from uploading the same file more than once. For more information, see Creating a File Transfer
Profile.
