Saving a file transfer profile
If your administrator has not assigned a File Transfer profile to you, then you can create and save your own profiles by following
these steps:
1. |
Click the Save button on the ActiveX File Transfer control toolbar. The Profile description dialog box opens. |
2. |
Select your Transfer Type for the profile you are creating:
a. |
When you select the Automatic Upload radio button, you have two available options:
• |
Select Allow user to select PC file if you want to enable a user to browse the PC files on his/her computer.
• |
Select Prevent multiple uploading to prevent a user from uploading the same file more than once to the host. When this option is enabled, a $ sign is appended
to the filename every time you upload a file to the host. For example, a PC file named text.txt will be renamed text$.txt
after uploading. If you upload text$.txt, it will be renamed text$$.txt.
b. |
When you select the Automatic Download radio button, you have one available option:
• |
Select Allow user to select "host" file if you want a user to be able to enter the name of an Host file to download to his/her PC.
3. |
Enter a profile description up to 40 characters in length in the Description dialog box. Give the profile a meaningful name that you can identify later on. |

Click OK. The Save Profile As dialog box opens. |
5. |
Type a file name for this profile in the File Name field or select an existing profile. Name the file in such a way that you know in the future whether this is an Upload profile or a Download profile. For example,
you could add "Up-" to all the names of your Upload profiles (Up-profile1.prf).
