When you start the installation of BlueZone Access Server and/or HostFront Server version 5.2, the installation application will detect the existence of an earlier version and prompt you to save the critical files in
a backup folder. This backup folder will stay on your system even after the upgrade, meaning it will not be deleted. It will
contain all of the HTML files, keyboard profiles, and the profile file (only for 3.5.x) of the older version.
The installation application of version
5.2 migrates all custom settings made in your HTML files during the installation process. At the end of the installation, an
upgrade wizard will perform the following tasks:
|
• |
Create a new cluster database. |
|
• |
Migrate the profile and keyboard profiles. |
|
• |
Add a server and cluster service entries in the cluster database. |
By performing the above-mentioned steps, the Upgrade Wizard makes your installation ready to start without any further intervention.
You only need to start the services using the Host Access Manager (HAM).
The upgrade wizard with take you through the following steps:
|
1. |
Provide the following information:
|
a. |
Database connection information. Provide the connection parameters to your SQL server where you want to store your new HostFront
cluster profile (IP address, port, user name, and password). |
|
b. |
A name for the new cluster database. The name you provide will be needed later when you start HAM to connect to the database.
|
|
|
2. |
Confirm or enter the following information:
|
a. |
The folder where the older profile is saved (the backup folder created during the upgrade/installation process). |
|
b. |
The folder where the older keyboard profiles are saved (the backup folder created during the upgrade/installation process).
|
|
c. |
The emulation type of the older product (3270, 5250, or VT) |
|
d. |
The cluster IP address you used to connect. This address will be used to add your server machine as a server and cluster server
entries in the cluster database. The IP address you provide should be that of the server you are upgrading. The upgrade wizard
reads this information from the HTML pages of the previous setup. |
|
f. |
During the migration, you will be prompted to enter the new license keys provided to you by SEAGULL as part of your upgrade
package. You will be prompted for every key that existed in the old profile. You must enter at least one key for the upgrade
process to continue. |
|
g. |
You will be prompted with the result of the migration at the end. |
|
When you have completed the migration, start Host Access Manager and all the services in the cluster, and let your users connect.
For information about starting the services, refer to
Cluster startup.
