Installation steps
The section below takes you step-by-step through the installation process with an explanation of every step.
The following is a flow chart of the installation steps and it is followed by a step-by-step explanation of the installation procedure. The steps are identical for both BlueZone Access Server and HostFront Server.

The installation begins when you place the CD in the CD reader and executes the installation procedure:
1. The License Agreement: Read the License Agreement displayed in the window.
a. If you agree with the terms and conditions, select I accept and click Next to continue with the installation.
b. If you do not agree with the license agreement, click Exit Setup to stop the installation.
2. Installation of Microsoft SQL server 2005 Express: The SQL server is required for the operation of the solution. It holds the configuration information as well as runtime data. You can install the SQL server on any machine that can be accessed by the server(s) and the Host Access Manager (HAM). If you want to install it on the same machine on which you are installing the server, select Yes.
You will be prompted to provide a password for the default administrator account of the SQL sever. Please take note of this password, given the you will need it later when you configure the HostFront cluster. Also note that the default user name of the administrator is sa. Note that the MS SQL server 2005 required a minimum length for the password of six characters. The installation of MS SQL Server 2005 Express requires Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0. The installation file of the framework is provided on the installation CD or it can be downloaded from the Microsoft website.
3. Selecting components to be installed: If you want to install Host Access Manager on the same machine as the server, you can keep the option selected in this step. You can install Host Access Manager at a later stage if you want.
4. Installation Folder for Host Access Manager: Specify the folder in which you want to install the solution. To accept the default folder, click Next.
5. Installation Folder for the BlueZone Access Server of HostFront Server: Specify the folder in which you want to install the solution. To accept the default folder, click Next.
6. Standalone server/first server in cluster or joining a cluster: Verifies how you want to proceed with the installation:
•  A stand-alone server or the first server in a cluster: If you select this option, the installation continues to step 7.
•  An additional server to an existing cluster of servers: If you select this option, you are prompted to load the installation log file that you created during the installation of your first server. The setup from here on will continue without any further prompts. All the information for steps that follow will be taken from the installation script file.
7. Which Emulation Services to Install: Each CD has the three emulation services on it: 3720, 5250, and VT (HostFront has only 5250 and 3270). Depending on your requirements, you can install any or all of them. Each one of these services requires its own unique license key.
If you purchased HostFront Server, you have the option of selecting the integration components that you want to install on the machine. The installation will only copy the installation file of the integration components. You can install each component as needed on individual developer or production machines. HostFront provides a special download page for this purpose that can be accessed from HTTP://clusterserviceIP/HFCS/HFDOWNLOAD.HTM.
8. Web Site: Select the website under which the solution virtual folders will be created. If you are using Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS), the installation program will create the virtual folder automatically. If you are using another web server (such as Apache or iPlanet), you must configure the virtual folders manually.
The following step will be repeated for every emulation service selected in the previous step (as applicable). This step includes all the options that are required for every service selected.
9. Product Installation Options:
a. Cluster Server IP address: If you are installing a single server, this is the IP address, or DNS name, of the server that you want the end users to access. For example, www.seagullsoftwarecluster.com.
If you are installing a cluster with one cluster service as the entry point, this is the IP address, or DNS name, of the server that you will designate as the cluster service.
If you are installing a cluster with multiple cluster services and a DNS server as an entry point, this is the IP address, or DNS name, of the DNS server that will be available to the end users.
b. Connection type: This option defines the connection type between the BlueZone Access Clients and the BlueZone Access Server. The Persistent option means that client/host sessions will use a persistent TCP/IP connection. The Non-persistent options mean that sessions will use an HTTP or HTTPS connection depending on the option you select.
c. RSA SecurID: If you want to use the product with an RSA SecurID Network, select the Use RSA SecurID check box and make sure that you enter the IP Address of the RSA enabled Web server. Selecting the Use RSA SecurID check box modifies the client HTML pages automatically to enable RSA authentication.
If you are not using RSA SecurID, select None.
d. Light Pen (only for 3270 service): Select this option if you are using a light pen with your mainframe application. This option applies only to 3270 service.
e. Service Log in Account: This option defines the account under which the service will be running. By default, the local system account will be selected. However, you can select to have the service running under another specific account (this would be the case, for example, if your setup uses an HIS domain and you need to run the 5250 and 3270 services under a specific account that can access all HIS servers in the HIS domain).
10. Sentinel Service Account: Allows you to define the account under which the Sentinel Service will run. Keep the settings of the System Account as is, unless you are using the Microsoft HIS client on the same machine as Host Access Manager (HAM). The Sentinel Service Account option should be used if you are upgrading from a previous version where you were using HIS client and not the HIS server.
Important
The selected account must have the permission to log in as a service. If it does not have that permission, the setup program will add it. For this change to take effect, you must restart the computer at the end of the installation. When needed, the setup program will prompt you for a restart.
11. Automatic Starting: This last step allows you to install the services with automatic startup option so that they start automatically when the server is rebooted. This option applies to all of the installed services (the communication services and the cluster service as well). If, on a particular server you are not using the cluster service, you might want to change the startup option for it manually from the Windows Services panel.
