Before you can use the ActiveX controls, you must set Internet Explorer's security level to medium or low so that the browser
can accept cabinet files (.CAB).
Follow the steps below to define the security level in Internet Explorer 6 or later:
|
1. |
Click . The Internet Options window opens.
|
|
2. |
Click the Security tab. |
|
3. |
In the Zone list box, select Trusted Sites. |
|
4. |
In the Trusted Sites Zone pane, click Custom level. |
|
5. |
In the Reset custom settings drop-down menu, select Medium or Low according to your preferences. Click Reset. It is recommended that you set the security level to Medium. A medium security level requires that you confirm the installation of any ActiveX controls. A low security level allows
any ActiveX controls to automatically install themselves without confirmation on your part.
|
|
6. |
In the Trusted Sites Zone pane, click Add Sites to view the Trusted Sites window. |
|
7. |
In the Add this Web site to the zone field, type HTTP://DomainName. Replace DOMAINAME with either your registered domain name (for the Internet) or the TCP/IP host name of the PC that contains the cluster service
(for your intranet).
|
|
8. |
Clear the Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone check box if you are not using HTTPS in your ActiveX Startup page URL. |
|
9. |
Click Add to add the website to your list of trusted sites and click OK. |
|
10. |
Restart your browser so that the security changes can take effect. |
Use the MSI packages provided with the software to install the ActiveX clients on user machines using your security procedures.
BlueZone Access Server provides display, printer, and file transfer modules in MSI installable packages that you can push
to your users to install automatically. You can find these packages in the C:\Program Files\SEAGULL\BlueZone Access Server\Clients\Access Clients folder.
You can also download these packages from the clients download page (use HTTPS if required):
You can then download any one of the listed clients or tools. You can save the MSI package and then distribute it to your
users.
You can now connect to the ActiveX startup page and launch sessions.
