How to Configure LIPI Host File Transfer

Procedure

1. Launch a BlueZone iSeries Display session.

2. From the BlueZone MenuBar, choose Transfer:Send/Receive.  The BlueZone Host File Transfer desktop user interface will launch.

3. From the Host File Transfer MenuBar choose Transfer:Transfer Setup or, click the Transfer Setup icon located on the Host File Transfer Toolbar.

4. The Transfer Setup dialog will be displayed.

The Transfer Setup dialog contains three tabs; Connection, Transfer, Local and Host.

Connection Tab

This is where you configure your connection settings.  Transfers can be configured for the host that you are currently connect to, or you can choose a different host.

Connection Settings ----

• Host Address: Enter the IP address of the host that you want to send or receive files.  The format can be IPv4, IPv6 or DNS name.  It can be the same host that started this session or, it can be a different host.

NOTE  If you leave the Host Address field blank, BlueZone Host File Transfer will automatically use the current host connection.

• Language (CCSID): This setting is used to set your Coded Character Set Identifier.  This setting is also sometimes referred to as a code page setting.  Each language has it's own CCSID.

• Username: This field is optional - If you do not enter a Username, you will be prompted.

• Password: This field is optional - If you do not enter a Password, you will be prompted.

• Use Windows Credentials: If your Windows credentials are the same as the Username and Password of the host, you can use this option.

• Security Button: The Security button allows access to the security options.  Continued below.

Security

The Security Tab contains the security options.  This is where you can enable Secure Sockets Layer encryption.

SSL Version ----

Choose the desired encryption option.

• SSL v3

• TLS v1

Invalid Certificates ----

This section is used to control the behavior of invalid certificate handling.  Options are:

• Always Reject

• Ask before Accepting

• Always Accept

• Preferred Cypher Suite: You have the choice of choosing a particular Cypher Suite, or letting BlueZone and the host negotiate the highest level of encryption that both BlueZone and the host system have in common.  To choose a particular Cypher Suite, use the drop down listbox to choose the desired Cypher Suite.

Certificate Tab

The Certificate Tab controls all aspects of certificates.  Certificates are optional.  You do not need to use a certificate in order to encrypt your data.  Certificates are used when it is important or required to prove the identity of the client.

Client Certificate ----

• No Client Certificate: Turns off the Client Certificate feature.

• Client Certificate in Disk File: If your Client Certificate is stored on a disk drive, use the Browse button to browse to the file, and the View button to view the certificate.  Use the second Browse button to browse to the location of your Private Key File.

• Client Certificate in Certificate Store: If your Client Certificate is stored in the Windows Certificate Store, use the Browse button to browse to the file, and the View button to view the certificate.

• Client Certificate on Smart Card: This feature is currently not implemented.

Root Certificates ----

Choose the desired type of root certificate form the following list:

• Use OpenSSL Root Certificates

• Use Windows Root Certificates

Transfer Tab

The Transfer Tab contains the transfer settings.

Transfer Settings ----

• Transfer Method: Use this list to choose the desired File Transfer Method:

• ASCII

• Basic Sequential

• CSV

• DIF

• DOS Random

• No Conversion

• Tab Delimited

• Output to: Used to assign the place where to transfer the data.  Use Display to display data in the Query Results window.  Use Spreadsheet to save data to a .DIF file.

• Spreadsheet

• Show Transfer Status Window: Used to turn the Transfer Status Window on or off, when you're downloading a file from the host. When this feature is not enabled, transfers take less time because the host does not have to count the number of selected records before transferring them.

Local Tab

The Local Tab contains the local file options.

Local File Options ----

• If File Exists: Use this list to configure how you want existing files to be treated.  Options are:

• Abort

• Append

• Overwrite

• Prompt before Overwrite: Enable this checkbox if you don't want the file to be accidentally overwritten.

• Save Description File: If enabled, the description file that is downloaded from the host will be saved locally on your machine with the same name as the file that you are receiving.

• Delete Trailing Spaces (ASCII Only): If enabled, any trailing spaces that were used to "pad" the file that you are receiving, will be deleted.

Host Tab

The Host Tab contains the host file options.

Host File Options ----

• File Creation: Use this list to configure how you want existing files to be treated.  Options are:

• Create File and Member

• Create Member

• Replace Member

• Append to Member

• Prompt before Replace: This option is available only when Replace Member is selected.  Enable this checkbox if you don't want the file to be accidentally overwritten.

• Use Description File: If enabled, a file extension must be entered in this editbox.

NOTE  The following options are available only when Create File and Member is selected in File Creation above.

• File Type: Choose the type of file to create on the Host.

• Data: Create a physical data file and member.

• Source: Create a physical source file and member.

• Authority: Used to set the permissions for the host file.

• All

• None

• Read

• Read/Write

• File Text: Used to assign a description to the host file.

• Member Text: Used to assign a description to the new Member that is being created.

• Record Length: Used to set the record length in bytes.  The default is 92 bytes.

• Reference File: Use to assign a reference file to the file you are sending to the host.  The new file is created by using the field names in the description file and the definitions of the fields in the reference file.

SQL Tab

SQL queries are used when downloading one or more files to your PC.  An SQL query allows you to select specific records, how they are sorted, and how they are grouped.  Press the "Options" button to connect to the server to retrieve the field information for each file selected.  You may enter the SQL query directly into the editbox or use the SQL Query Options dialog to create SQL queries.
