BlueZone Web-to-Host |
The Web-to-Host Wizard is an easy to use configuration tool. With a little practice, you should be able to make Launch Folders that perform a wide range of functions from launching a single BlueZone session, to creating a BlueZone Launch Pad that contains many BlueZone sessions that utilize any number of BlueZone Web-to-Host's optional and advanced features.
The following basic Web-to-Host Wizard functions are accessed via the main Web-to-Host Wizard dialog. The main Web-to-Host Wizard dialog is the first page that is displayed when you launch the Web-to-Host Wizard.
The first time you launch the Web-to-Host Wizard, you will have to create a Site. The next step is to create a Launch Folder, then you add and configure one or more BlueZone emulation client sessions to the Launch Folder.

The Advanced Settings page is used to customize the Sessions associated with this Launch Folder. The Advanced Settings page will display a list of buttons appropriate for the chosen launch method.
On the Advanced Settings page you can customize and modify the settings of your chosen launch method, add optional features like scripting, add files to the download, like scripts, as well as control the settings for several other advanced features.
SEE Advanced Settings are covered in the Advanced Configuration section of the How to Guide.
The Test Launch Folders page is provided for testing purposes. On this page, you can choose between the Wizard's built-in web server, or if the Wizard is installed on a Windows server platform, you can use the Windows IIS web server or any other web server running on this machine.
The Test BlueZone button is provided as a convenient way to launch the default browser so you can test your configured BlueZone Web-to-Host sessions.
Why is this important?
Testing is a very important part of administering BlueZone Web-to-Host. When you are in the process of creating Launch Folders and creating and configuring BlueZone emulation client Sessions, you want to be able to see the results of your changes immediately. This is accomplished by using the Test BlueZone button.
By design, when you create BlueZone Sessions that have the Allow Local Save? checkbox enabled, the BlueZone Web-to-Host Control Module is programmed not to download and overwrite the user's BlueZone configuration files. This protects any customization changes that the user may have made to their BlueZone configurations. Please be aware that files other than the configuration files can be downloaded, it's just the BlueZone configuration files that are prevented from downloading by the enabling of the Allow Local Save? checkbox.
In theory then, each time you make a BlueZone configuration change, you would have to run eZClear in order for you to see the result of your configuration change.
To eliminate this problem and make it easier to test BlueZone configuration changes, the Web-to-Host Wizard is designed to automatically delete the BlueZone Web key in the Windows registry when the Configure button on the Sessions page is used to launch and modify a BlueZone session. This forces the downloading of the BlueZone files the next time you use the Test BlueZone button to launch a session. This guarantees that you will always be immediately presented with your BlueZone configuration changes when you click the Test BlueZone button.
NOTE The BlueZone Web key is also deleted when the Web-to-Host Wizard program is closed.
Testing From a BlueZone User's Perspective
Alternatively, if you want to test your Sessions as if you were a BlueZone user, do not use the Test BlueZone button, and do not use the server's browser. Instead, go to a completely different machine, launch your Internet browser and enter the URL of the Launch Folder that you are testing.
TIP The URL for your Launch Folder can be found in the URL display box on the Test Launch Folders page. The URL display box is located just above the Test BlueZone button. This is the URL that your users' would use to access this Launch Folder.
When testing as a user from a separate machine, BlueZone Web-to-Host will behave in the normal fashion. This means that the Web-to-Host Control Module and BlueZone emulation clients will only download one time, and will only download again when these files are updated on the server, or after eZClear is run. Keep in mind that BlueZone configuration files will download only once. If you make changes to any of your configured BlueZone sessions, the updated configuration files will not download until you run eZClear.
