BlueZone Web-to-Host

How to Prevent Users from Launching More Than One Session Per Profile

Profile Sharing: Click here to learn more about this feature

If you are using Profile Mode, by default, it is possible for End Users to open multiple BlueZone sessions from a single profile (configuration file).  In other words, multiple BlueZone sessions can share a single profile.

If this behavior is not desired, you can configure BlueZone so that only one session can be opened per profile.  This is accomplished by turning off Profile Sharing in the BlueZone default.ini file.

When Profile Sharing is disabled, when an End User attempts to launch a second BlueZone session from the same profile, no error message will be displayed.  Instead, the already open BlueZone session will be given focus.

Configuration Method: Manual Configuration

Feature Scope: Launch Folder Level Feature

Procedure

  1. On the web server, navigate to the desired Site that you wish to change.

For example:

C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\MySite

  1. Locate and display the contents of the \template folder.

  2. Locate the default.ini file and edit it with Notepad.

  3. Locate the ProfileSharing=Yes entry in the [BlueZone] section.

  4. Change the Yes value to No and save the file.

Any new Launch Folders that are created from this point on, will have the Profile Sharing Feature disabled for all Sessions.

NOTE  If you have already created one or more Launch Folders, you will have to go to each existing Launch Folder, and edit the default.ini file, changing the ProfileSharing=Yes to No.

TIP  It is possible to enable the Profile Sharing Feature individually for each existing Launch Folder.  This is accomplished by editing the default.ini file located in only the Launch Folders you wish to change.
