Installing the Server Certificate as a Trusted Root

A Server Certificate Trusted Root is necessary to authenticate the Server to the Client when the Server Certificate is presented during the initial SSL negotiation.  Installing the Server Certificate as a Trusted Root results in a unique "hashed" representation of the file with an alpha-numeric filename and a .0 to .9 extension.  This file must be copied or installed on each client that will be connecting to the Security Server only if the client requires a valid server certificate to connect.  If the client will accept invalid server certificates, the Trusted Root need not be installed.

Installing a Server Certificate as a Trusted Root

  1. Go to Certificates:Install to display the Install Certificates On Server dialog.

  2. Select the Trusted Root Certificates radio button.

  3. Click the Browse button the select the Server Certificate file, then click Open.

  4. Click the Install button to create the Trusted Root Certificate File.

  5. Add the resulting file to the installation file set for each BlueZone emulation client requiring Server Authentication.  When a Server Certificate is presented to a BlueZone emulation client during SSL negotiation, this file will be referenced to confirm that the Server Certificate is valid.
