BlueZone Program File Listing

Starting with version 4.1, BlueZone uses an InstallShield Wizard powered by an MSI installer. The file structure of the BlueZone Desktop folder is completely different from previous versions of BlueZone.

As much as possible, BlueZone's programs, components and options are placed in their own CAB files. This approach simplifies the process of building a customized BlueZone Distribution Image by making it easy to delete BlueZone components that are not needed and keeping the desired components.

Based on the following file descriptions, you can decide which files are needed for your installation, and which files can be deleted.

Generally speaking, all the files that do not have a .CAB file extension (with a few exceptions) are required in order to perform a BlueZone installation. Most of the files that have a .CAB extension are optional with the exception of the common.cab and common2.cab files.

If you do not want a particular BlueZone component or feature, simply delete the component's CAB file.

The files located in the BlueZone Desktop Folder can be broken down into three parts:

The following tables contain all the files that are included in the BlueZone Desktop folder, broken down into three groups; BlueZone Folders; Required BlueZone Files; and BlueZone Program CAB files. Keep in mind that if you want to include an option (shown in bold) that is contained in one of the BlueZone Folders, you have to copy the file or files that are contained in that folder to the main BlueZone image folder.

NOTE At least one BlueZone Program CAB file is required in a BlueZone Distribution Image.

* These CAB files can not be installed by themselves. They are dependent upon their display counterparts in order to operate properly. In other words, the Display CAB can be installed by itself but the Printer CAB requires the Display CAB.

CAUTION! Keep in mind that when you are finished creating your Distribution Image, it must have a completely flat file structure. It must not contain any folders. All the files have to be at the same level.
