Once a Client Certificate has been created, it must be installed on the user's system and made accessible to the software. The installation process varies from product to product. Refer to the appropriate administrator's guide when using Client Certificates with non-SEAGULL software.
Locate the Client Certificate, Client Certificate Private Key, and the hashed Signing Certificate (.0 file from the Certs\ Root directory) used to sign the Client Certificate.
Copy the files to a diskette, email them, or otherwise make them available to the user in a secure fashion.
Give the user the Private Key password needed to access the Private Key file during authentication.
Obtain the Client Certificate, Private Key File, and hashed Signing Certificate from the Security Administrator.
In the SEAGULL Client, go to Session:Configure to display the Define New Connection dialog.
Click the Security Tab to display the Secure Sockets Layer settings.
Check the Enable Secure Sockets Layer check box.
Check the Use Client Certificates check box.
Browse to the supplied Certificate file or enter the complete path and filename.
Browse to the supplied Private Key file or enter the complete path and filename.
Click OK to save the settings.
When the user attempts to connect, a dialog prompting for the Private Key Password appears.
Enter the Private Key Password to connect.
