BlueZone Web-to-Host

How to Allow or Prevent End Users from Being Able to Save Configuration Changes

Saving BlueZone Configuration Changes - Click here to learn more about this feature

By default, your End Users will be able to save configuration changes to their BlueZone Emulation Clients to their local workstations.

When using the default value, BlueZone automatically saves any configuration changes made by the End User, like screen size, color, font selection, keyboard mapping, etc., to a file located on the End User's workstation in the BlueZone Working Directory.

When Allow User to Save Changes Locally = Enabled and Base Registry Mode = 2 (default)

If the BlueZone Administrator makes a change to a configuration file, saves the new file to the web server, and increments BlueZone’s Version Control Feature, the next time the End User launches the associated session, BlueZone Web-to-Host will push out the updated configuration file to the End User and BlueZone will launch using this updated configuration file.  If the End User does not want to use the settings contained in this new configuration file, the End User can do a File:Open from the BlueZone MenuBar and open a perviously saved configuration file or the “Backup of” version of their configuration file.

When Allow User to Save Changes Locally = Enabled and Base Registry Mode = 0 or 1

If the BlueZone Administrator makes a change to a configuration file, saves the new file to the web server, and increments BlueZone’s Version Control Feature, the next time the End User launches the associated session, BlueZone Web-to-Host will push out the updated configuration file to the End User but will be ignored by the BlueZone Emulation Client.

When Allow User to Save Changes Locally = Disabled and Base Registry Mode = 2

BlueZone will not allow the End User to save any configuration changes.  The “Save” and “Save As” links on the “File” drop down menu on the BlueZone MenuBar will be “grayed out”.  This mode is desirable if you do not want your End Users to be able to make any permanent changes to the BlueZone Emulation Client's configuration.

When Allow User to Save Changes Locally = Disabled and Base Registry Mode = 0 or 1

BlueZone will not save any configuration changes into the Windows Registry, nor will the End User be able to save their BlueZone configuration to a file.  The “Save” and “Save As” links on the “File” drop down menu on the BlueZone MenuBar will be “grayed out”.  This mode is desirable if you do not want your End Users to be able to make any permanent changes to the BlueZone Emulation Client's configuration.

This is a Session Level Feature.

By default, the Wizard is set to allow End Users to be able to save their BlueZone configuration changes locally.

If you do not want your End Users to be able to do this un-check the Allow User to Save Changes Locally checkbox.
