Installing and Activating a Signing Certificate

Once a Self-Signed Signing Certificate has been created, it must be installed and activated in the SEAGULL Security Server before signing new certificates.

To Install a Signing Certificate:

1. Go to Certificates:Install and select the Signing Certificates & Keys radio button.

2. Click Browse... to select both the certificate and private key filenames.  Certificates will have .CER or .PEM extensions and the private key file will have .KEY or .PEM extensions.  Click Open to place the filenames in the dialog edit box.

3. Click the Install button to copy the files to the SEAGULL Security Server

To Activate the Signing Certificate:

1. Go to Certificates:Server to set the paths to the active Certificate, Private Key File, and specify the Private Key Password.
