Connecting to the Host System

Establishing a Host Session

Assuming Session Configuration has already been completed, you are now ready to establish a session on the host system.

To establish a host session:

From the SEAGULL FTP MenuBar, select Session:Connect or press the Connect icon, located on the SEAGULL FTP ToolBar.  When connecting to the host, the Session Status Indicator field on the StatusBar will initially display “Resolving address...” and will change to “Connected” once the connection is complete.

Selecting a Host Name from the drop down box on the SEAGULL FTP ToolBar will also start a connection to that Host.

For your convenience, the Session:Connect menu item will then change to Session:Disconnect and the Connect button on the SEAGULL FTP ToolBar will become a Disconnect button.

To disconnect the host session:

From the SEAGULL FTP MenuBar, select Session:Disconnect or press the Disconnect icon on the SEAGULL FTP ToolBar.  When disconnecting, the Session Status Indicator field on the StatusBar will initially display “Disconnecting...” and will then change to “Disconnected” once the disconnection is complete.
