Getting Started with BlueZone Desktop

BlueZone Session Manager

Overview

The BlueZone Session Manager program can be used to view, open, create and delete BlueZone sessions.  The Session Manager can also be used to pre-configure BlueZone sessions on the user's workstation, and, in addition, display session status information.

To launch the Session Manager, click the Session Manager Icon in the BlueZone program group or on the BlueZone MenuBar select Session:Session Manager.

The BlueZone Session Manager provides a simple user interface for creating and maintaining BlueZone session configurations.  Each BlueZone session is a separate instance of the BlueZone program and stores its configuration information in the Windows Registry.  Individual BlueZone sessions have a discrete set of configuration parameters with specific emulation, desktop, and connection settings.  The parameters may all be identical and used simultaneously, providing multiple session access to a single host application, or each session may be entirely different, allowing easy access to different hosts or applications all with differing emulation, desktop, and connection requirements.

Think of the Session Manager as a "window" into the BlueZone registry settings.

Understanding the Session Manager

The Session Manager appears to be a Windows dialog contained within the BlueZone program, yet it is actually a separate executable file that may be launched from the Session Manager icon or from any active BlueZone session.   The Session Manager is designed so only a single instance of it can exist, preventing synchronization problems that may arise when multiple applications modify the same data.  Once the Session Manager is launched, selecting it again brings the existing instance to the foreground.

Session Manager capabilities include:

Using the Session Manager

The Session Manager consists of a single dialog.  Configuring each of the different elements permits the complete management of BlueZone sessions on the desktop.  Once additional sessions are created, they may be further configured using a BlueZone Configuration File or the dialogs available from the BlueZone MenuBar.
