The SEAGULL Security Server will operate in evaluation mode unless a valid License Key is entered in the License Key dialog. The License Key is provided by SEAGULL and is tied to an IP Address configured in the server on which the Security Server is installed.
Obtaining a License Key
After installing the Security Server on the target system, contact SEAGULL Support to obtain the License Key.
To obtain the License Key, provide the following information:
The IP Address of the server running the Security Server. (ex. 198.23.11.3)
The 14 digit Registration Key for the Security Server. (ex. RSS-XXX-XXXX-X)
After the License Key is generated it must be activated in the Security Server. To activate the License Key in the Security Server:
Obtain the License Key from SEAGULL Order Administration via email or telephone. Email is recommended due to the length and complexity of the key itself.
Go to File:License Info... to display the License Information dialog.
Type or paste the License Key into the edit box.
Click OK to exit the dialog and activate the license.
Check the Help:About Security Server... dialog to verify the Registration Key and License Type.
NOTE The IP Address used to create the License Key must be configured in the system on which the Security Server is installed. If the Security Server is unable to validate the IP Address, it will operate in evaluation mode.
