The Sounds Options dialog is used to configure the Rocket TE
special sound features which control the behavior of host and application
sounds when using Rocket TE.
From the Rocket TE menu bar, click .
Sounds tab
- Options
- There are two options: one to enable the host bell and one to
enable the Rocket TE application sounds. These options are mutually
exclusive and can be used and configured separately.
- Enable Host Bell: If enabled, the host
bell sounds when Rocket TE makes a host connection. No sound is made
when Rocket TE disconnects from the host. The sound played depends
on one of the following settings:
- Play the Windows System Sound: This choice
uses the sound that is associated with the sound name that displays
in the System Sound list box. By default,
the system default sound is selected. In this case, the sound that
is associated with the Default Beep in Windows, is the sound that
is played as the host bell.
- Beep the PC Speaker: This choice sends
a beep to the PC speaker as the host bell. You can choose both the
frequency and the duration of the sound.
- Frequency: Is in Hertz
- Duration: Is in Milliseconds
- Test: Click to test the selected option
above.
- Enable Rocket TE Application Sounds: This
is used to choose whether or not you want Rocket TE to use the preconfigured
Windows sound settings for Windows applications.
For example, in the Windows Control Panel, if you have a Windows
sound associated with Device Connect, that sound is played each time
Rocket TE makes a host connection.
Note: If you also have the Enable
Host Bell option selected, the host bell also sounds each
time Rocket TE makes a host connection, resulting in a double sound.
